Mother’s Day Special

She’s someone who can make anything & everything happen! This year on Mother’s Day, TRIOMPH-patient support group of MOHAN foundation celebrated the incredible mothers who have shown utmost strength & resilience by donating their organs to save their loved ones. TRIOMPH provided a platform to share the stories titled Heroes-organ donation between mother and child.

People had shared their stories as small videos and write-ups which are truly inspirational and motivating. All the stories were shared across the social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn). Links are mentioned along with the figures under each heading.

Liver Donation

One such heartwarming story was shared by Amulya, and her story is the ' story of love and hope'. On December 3, 2023; Myra got a rebirth, when Amulya, her mom donated a part of her liver in a life-saving transplant.
In Myra's own words-' "Mumma, you've given me the best birthday gift ever. Every memory of the transplant fills Amulya with love and gratitude and she says 'the scar from my chest to abdomen is a testament to the boundless love and strength we share. I am profoundly grateful to my family—my rock, my guiding lights—and all the friends and well-wishers who prayed for us. Most importantly, let's advocate for organ donation awareness—it can save countless lives and bring hope to families like ours.'

Kidney Donation

Mrs. Laxmi Ahire, a teacher by profession who came forward to share her story of kidney donation to his son Rushikesh. She is proud that she could help her son in critical times and could give him her kidney. She also made an appeal for ‘organ donation to save lives.

Skin Donation

The Rao family shared a video reminiscing about their mother, late Mrs. Padma Rao: ‘amma’ as they called her. Mr. Kirti Rao spoke about the skin donation of his late mother. He also acknowledged the role of MOHAN foundation for helping them achieve the donation.
